Tomo Sone
Tomo Sone is a choreographer and interdisciplinary artist based in New York City whose work explores the friction between bodily autonomy, visibility, and technology. She merges artistic vision with scientific insights to craft innovative dance narratives, using a unique body language inspired by her long-term experience with classical ballet, the contemporary dance movement language, and traditional Japanese Noh Theater. Besides that, she has refined her expertise in experimental choreography and collaborating with Augmented Reality (AR), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Robotics to create internationally recognized performances and dance films. The study delves into the relationship between the human body and digital technology, as well as performer-audience dynamics, to seek new avenues for empathy inspired by natural ecosystems.
